Can an almost irreverent treatment of an object achieve the effect of elevating its essence? We wanted to treat the subject of the images as if they were lost, fallen objects that had come into contact with a “dirty”, poor material. Fixing them in the shot with tape, we exalted their preciousness by revealing them through contrasts. The strong reference to the urban allows us to reinterpret their shape and material in a sort of forced zoom, providing an opportunity to appreciate their details. The geometric purity of the diamond is flanked by the irregularity of rusty sheet metal, and the luminosity of the metal is paired with the dustiness of a surface exposed to the markings of time.
