As the input for the subject was known, the Gothic, inspiration came from the desire to remain coherent with the theme of fashion while expressing a punk, strong, grating visual code. The needle pierces the leather, creating a texture and an expressive basis that references body art and practices of transfiguring the body, dragging a consolidated language of aesthetics into a contemporary depiction. To give it strength, we stripped it of its typical hyper-decoration, thereby giving prominence to the jewellery. The composition, the material and the theme led naturally to a black and white photographic interpretation: an expression of neat contrasts in the light.
